Why did you decide to become a UBELONG Volunteer?
I decided to become a UBELONG Volunteer after I had done research on volunteerism. I knew I wanted to work as a volunteer in an African country but I didn‘t know about any organizations who were offering experiences like this. When doing my research I found the things I was looking for in UBELONG. An affordable trip with the right values and an organization that actually cares about the people they work with. UBELONG made my decision for them very easy.

What was your impact on your volunteer project?
During my stay I was working in the public health team. All the achievements made were team work all the way. My impact on the project was mainly supporting the local team in their work. It was very rewarding to see that at the end of my stay we had completed all the work we had planned to. The local team together with the volunteers were such an amazing team and everyone complemented each other in their ideas and work.

What did you take from the experience?
The experience for me is one I never want to forget. The people I met, the food I ate, the work I did and the country I got to know, it all created memories. It even goes beyond that. I feel like getting to know how things work in a different country gave me a new perspective for life at home, which will be beneficial for me in the future.
