Why did you decide to become a UBELONG Volunteer?
I decided to become a UBELONG Volunteer because I had never volunteered abroad and the team at UBELONG were extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable. There are a lot of agencies that offer volunteering experiences, but UBELONG is the most dependable and reliable all while offering an individualized experience for each traveler.

What did you find most rewarding from you volunteer experience?
The most rewarding part of my volunteer experience was to be able to not only see other cultures, but to participate in them. The students and teachers at the school I was volunteering with encouraged me to try their authentic foods and recommended places to see before I had to leave. The people of Cusco, Peru taught me to embrace other cultures and to appreciate the little things that come your way.

What three pieces of advice would you give to a future UBELONG Volunteer?
The only piece of advice I have would be to get out of your comfort box! Being open minded and accepting of yours and others differences will change your experience drastically, and for the better. Putting a smile on your face and having a positive outgoing attitude will help make you new friends that may last longer than your travels.
