Claim to fame: Tim and Kelley were a wonderful son-daughter duo. Thank you for joining us, and welcome to the UBELONG Family!

Why did you decide to become a UBELONG Volunteer?
We were looking for an appropriate volunteer opportunity and Kelley discovered UBELONG. It met our priorities of safety, the ability to volunteer for less than 2 weeks, Kelley’s eligibility given her age of 15, the choices of locations and UBELONG’s mission to allow local organizations to take the lead.

What is your favorite memory?
Boat ride down the river to the animal rescue center. We were lucky to be at the station at the same time as a group of biology students. It was wonderful to get to know them, the other volunteers and those working at the station. All amazing and caring people!

What were your major challenges?
Not knowing how to speak Spanish. Kelley’s ability to speak Italian did help with basic communication. We should have prepared ourselves better to communicate.

What was it like to volunteer with your daughter?
Amazing, she took the lead whenever possible. We worked together and she was awesome. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity she gave me.
